Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for processing small files. The method includes responding to a file storage request of a user, integrating the small files in the file storage request according to preset file integration rules to acquire at least one file block, and storing each file block into a disk. Each file block comprises at least one small file and an index key value thereof. According to the method, multiple small files are integrated into one file block, and the file block as an object is stored into the disk; compared with the prior art in which each small file is packaged into an object to be stored, the method has the advantages that waste of much storage space for non-small-file data storage is avoided, and thus, disk space is saved substantially.
