Embodiment Construction

[0077] The same reference numerals are used to designate the same parts in different figures, so these are also usually only described once.

[0078] figure 1 A perspective view of an articulated connection 1 according to the invention is shown. The articulated connection 1 comprises a journal 2 and also a steering arm 3 connected to the journal 2 . The steering arm 3 is produced in a manner not described in greater detail from a different material than the journal 2 and is thus configured in a bendable manner. By a selective selection of the material for the steering arm 3 , said steering arm 3 can be elastically deflected in at least one direction with respect to the journal 2 .

[0079]The journal 2 is equipped with a first receiving opening 4 for a spring strut tube, not described in more detail, in which a shock absorber, likewise not described in more detail, is arranged. The spring strut tube has a spring plate which is likewise not described in more detail. In orde...

Abstract

An articulated connection (1) can be used to transfer a steering movement to a vehicle wheel. The articulated connection can include an axle journal (2) and a steering arm (3). The axle journal (2) can be configured to be coupled to the wheel. The steering arm (3) can be configured to receive and transfer the steering movement to the axle journal (2). The steering arm (3) can be bendable so as to elastically deflect with respect to the axle journal (2). According to the invention, the steering arm (3) can be elastically deflect in a curved plane (A). In the embodiment, a curved arm portion (9) has a rectangular cross section which has a height (b) vertical to and extending along the curved plane (A), and a width (c) extending in the curved plane (A); the height (b) of the rectangular cross section is greater than the width (c).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an articulated connection for transmitting steering motion to a vehicle wheel, and also to a bendable steering arm for such an articulated connection. Background technique [0002] In the case of multi-axle non-rail motor vehicles, the direction of travel is determined by the position of the wheels relative to each other. The change of direction is first produced by the steering movement, thus changing the position of the wheels relative to each other. Modern vehicles are expected to deliver agile, smooth handling when driving around bends at low to moderate speeds. In contrast, maximum stability should still be guaranteed at high speeds. This is important because too direct steering in this situation can quickly lead to a critical or even uncontrolled driving situation. [0003] The speed at which steering movements occur is therefore important for drivability, especially in the case of four-axle and multi-axle vehicles. I...
