Abstract

The present invention provides a distributed print management. A print device comprises a user interface, at least one processor, and at least one computer-readable storage medium for storing instructions. The print device carries out the following process: receiving user ID data; receiving data for identifying at least one print process definition; displaying at least one user interface object corresponding to the at least one print process definition on a user interface; receiving user input for indicating a selected preset user interface object from the at least one user interface object, through the user interface; identifying print setting data in the preset print process definition corresponding to the preset user interface object; executing preset print work, including generating a preset print version of the preset electronic document based the print setting data, and generating print work finish data; and sending the print work finish data to a first device.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to distributed scan management, and more particularly to the extension of scan capabilities in enterprise environments. Background technique [0002] Management of network devices, especially in large enterprise environments, has been recognized as a difficult task. For example, a system administrator who manages network devices such as scanners and printers may wish to monitor network device usage, restrict access to certain network devices, and provide security for data generated by network devices. However, many features that increase the usability and versatility of network devices are missing from existing approaches. Contents of the invention [0003] The present invention provides a method of configuring a print process definition. In one embodiment, user ID data for identifying a user of the printing device is received. receiving data identifying at least one or more print process definitions, each p...
