The method includes the steps that the first platform actively initiates a synchronization query; the second platform queried synchronously judges whether the number of subordinate sub-platforms of the second platform is larger than a designated threshold value; a query identifier is marked on a sub-platform camera catalog node where the number of the cameras is larger than the designated threshold value, and the camera information of the platform is reported according to the query identifier; the first platform checks whether the camera catalog node has the query identifier, a video monitoring platform corresponding to the camera catalog node having the query identifier initiates a further recursion synchronization query for the second platform if the camera catalog node has the query identifier, and otherwise, the synchronization query is over.
