The invention discloses a method for positioning a moving target through a wide beam laser range finder and a single camera, aiming to achieve the effect that the moving target is positioned under high precision through the wide beam laser range finder and the single camera. According to the technical scheme, the method comprises the steps of precisely calibrating inner parameters of the camera in advance, additionally arranging a reflection prism on the target to be measured, measuring a distance from the target to be measured to the camera through the wide beam laser range finder, and shooting the target to be measured through the camera to obtain an angular altitude and an azimuth angle from the camera to the target to be measured; finally obtaining the space position of the space target. The moving target is positioned through the wide beam laser range finder and a shooting measurement measure of the single camera. The measurement range is about 10 degrees, the distance is about 5km, and the precision is up to 1m.
