Abstract

The invention provides a routing and frequency spectrum allocating method and routing and frequency spectrum allocating equipment which are used for configuring transmission channels based on a connection demand between any one pair of nodes on an optical communication network for OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing). The optical transmission network can be an elastic optical network, and correspondingly, the transmission channel is an optical path. The optical communication network allows that multiple transmission channels are arranged between one pair of nodes, wherein multiple alternative transmission channels are arranged between at least one pair of nodes, and each alternative transmission channel is provided with multiple continuous idle spectrum fragments. The method comprises the following step: when the idle spectrum fragment quantity of each alternative transmission channel among the multiple alternative transmission channels is not greater than the spectrum fragment quantity required for one connection demand, allocating at least two transmission channels among the multiple alternative transmission channels to the one connection demand.
