Embodiment 1

[0047] Experimental materials and methods

[0048] Nymphs (nymphs) of the German cockroach (Bladenola germanica) were obtained from Benzon Research and stored in a cold room until delivery to the experimental site. Upon delivery, the cockroach nymphs were kept in the cold room until bioassays were performed. When the bioassay begins, single German cockroach nymphs are placed into a predetermined diet cup and all cockroaches are given moisture and ground dog food as a food source (crushed dog food). By placing a florist's foam circle on the bottom of a meal cup and filling with deionized water (diH 2 O) Saturation Expose the cockroaches to moisture. Place the food source in a 2.0mL microcentrifuge cap (microcentrifuge cap) to prevent it from being absorbed by the diH in the florist's foam ring 2 O is saturated.

[0049] Experimental procedure

[0050] Specifically, the bioassay involves subjecting cockroach nymphs to a set of treatments. The treatment included control, w...

Embodiment 2

[0062] Experimental materials and methods

[0063] The horizontal transmission assay was performed using two cockroach species, Blattella germanica and Blatta orientalis. Sporulated cockroach carcasses from each of the aforementioned species were treated with seven different treatments to study emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulations (USEPA Registration No.: 70127-10) and technical grade powders. , TGP) (USEPA registration number: 70127-7) and Combat Roach The compatibility between the active ingredient and 0.03% fipronil (Fipronil). EC is a combination of Metarhizium anisopliae spores suspended in oil containing an emulsifier so that EC can be dispersed in water. TGP are individual spores of Metarhizium anisopliae.

[0064] Obtained from Combat Fast Acting Roach (0.03% fipronil) for large and small roach traps and EC (approximately 4x10 7 Viable conidia / mL suspension) and TGP were combined and tested. By adding 2mL4x10 9 Live conidia / mL suspension was added to 198...

Embodiment 3

[0076] Experimental materials and methods

[0077]Horizontal transmission assays were performed to confirm that the semi-social behavior of cockroaches can be exploited so that sporulated carcasses can efficiently transmit Met52 fungal spores to a representative population of cockroaches. In the assay, approximately 10 Blattella germanica and approximately 10 Blatta orientalis cockroaches cohabitate with each other to simulate a small-scale colony.

[0078] Experimental procedure

[0079] For German cockroaches, line the bottom of a Petri dish with florist's wet foam and rinse with deionized water (diH 2 O) Saturation. with CO 2 Ten to twelve German cockroach cockroaches were asphyxiated and placed in petri dishes with individual cockroach carcasses from the odor control assay / GC-MS in Example 1. This step was repeated 6 times. All cadavers were not used in GC / MS experiments. Each Petri dish was sealed with parafilm and triplicate measurements were performed with and wit...

Abstract

The present invention is directed to a composition and method thereof for reducing or eliminating malodors produced by decaying arthropod cadavers comprising an effective amount of one or more entomopathogenic fungi. The invention provides a novel way to eliminate the malodors stemming from pest control methods as traps and chemical pesticides are frequently used to control pests and pest associated diseases in restaurants, commercial hotels, motels, and residential housing.
