The layers can be divided scientifically, reasonably and clearly so that system design can be optimized and a procedure is standardized. Each layer is relatively independent. Each layer offers service for the upper layer through an interface and each layer calls the service of the lower layer through an interface, so that a data flow is transmitted between two adjacent layers.
