A method and system for measuring the response time of a liquid crystal display. The method comprises the following steps: A. displaying a preset image on the liquid crystal display; B. acquiring the brightness of the liquid crystal display for displaying the preset image, and outputting a brightness-time curve of the brightness changing over time; and C. correcting the brightness-time curve so as to acquire a corrected brightness-time curve, and calculating the response time of the liquid crystal display according to the corrected brightness-time curve. The method is beneficial for reducing or eliminating an error of the measured response time due to the fact that a response time measuring system uses measurement devices with different actual brightness.
