Benefits of technology

This new technology improves upon existing methods used on cables that use specialized plastic material called polyethylene (PE) or glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin(FRP). These techniques improve their performance but they also require expensive equipment such as metal cladding tubes made up of multiple layers of PE/GF paper wrapped around it. Additionally, these types of fibers have poor thermal conductivity compared to traditional wires like copper wire. By adding wrap type composite polymers instead of covering them during manufacturing process, we aimed towards creation of better heat resistive properties without increasing its overall dimensions.

Problems solved by technology

This technical problem addressed by this patented technology relates to how to improve the resistance against fires caused by sea military vessels or other objects when they communicate wirelessly over long distances without losing their ability to perform necessary tasks due to damage from heat generated through flames. Current methods involve adding costly materials like aluminum foil layers onto existing steel armour tubes made up mostly copper material, but these techniques have limitations such as being too rigid and prone to crackings under repeated stress cycles.

Abstract

The invention discloses a high-temperature fire-resistant insulated cable for ships and warships. The cable is characterized in that a conductor formed by twisting tinned copper wires is used; fire-resistant insulating layers formed by wrapping composite high-polymer high-temperature fire-resistant strips on an outer layer of the conductor form fire-resistant insulated wire cores; the multiple fire-resistant insulated wire cores are twisted to form a cable core; a layer of low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) high inflaming retarding wrapping tapes wraps the cable core externally; an outer layer of the LSZH high inflaming retarding wrapping tapes is coated with an inner jacket made from thermosetting LSZH irradiation crosslinking polyolefin or thermoplastic polyurethanes; an metal-braid armour protective layer is arranged outside the inner jacket and made from tinned wires, zinc-coated wire or aluminium magnesium alloy wires; and an outer surface layer of a cable is coated with an outer jacket made from thermosetting irradiation crosslinking polyolefin or thermoplastic polyurethanes. The cable disclosed by the invention is simple in structure, and convenient to produce, process, lay and mount, and has the advantages of good fire resistance, flame retardance and no flame spreading property.
