The data transmission method comprises the following steps that whether a CAPWAP (control and provisioning of wireless access point) data channel has the data transmission or not is confirmed; and under the condition that the CAPWAP data channel has the data transmission, the sending of keep-alive messages is stopped. In the embodiment, because the keep-alive messages are not sent in the data transmission process, so the CAPWAP link breaking caused by keep-alive message loss can be prevented, and the reliability of the ACPWAP link is improved.
