Abstract

The embodiment of the invention relates to a method and a device for identifying user equipment (UE) in an evolved network, and a mobility management entity (MME). The method comprises the following steps of: receiving a system architecture evolved-temporary mobile subscriber identity (S-TMSI) which is allocated for the UE accessing the evolved network, wherein the S-TMSI comprises a resource pool identity, an MME identity and a temporary identity of the UE; and temporarily identifying the UE in the evolved network by using the S-TMSI. The device comprises a receiving unit and a temporary identification unit. The MME comprises a temporary identity allocation unit. In addition, the invention also provides a method for transmitting and allocating the temporary identity and a method for receiving and transmitting information according to the temporary identity. By setting the resource pool identity on the S-TMSI, the aim of accelerating the updating and the processing of access equipment is fulfilled, the configuration of network resources of operators is simplified, and radio null interface resources are saved at the same time.
