Abstract

The invention discloses a motion gesture recognition method and a motion gesture recognition system based on an image. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving a plurality of image pictures; executing gesture detection according to the plurality of image pictures to obtain a first gesture; if the first gesture accords with a predetermined starting gesture, executing mobile tracking according to hand positions in the plurality of image pictures to obtain a mobile gesture; in the process of executing the mobile tracking, executing the gesture detection according to the plurality of image pictures to obtain a second gesture; and if the second gesture accords with a predetermined ending gesture, stopping the mobile tracking.
