Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for regulating the capacity of storage equipment and the storage equipment. The method for regulating the capacity of the storage equipment comprises the following steps of: receiving a capacity regulating request sent by a user host, wherein a use space capacity regulating target value is carried in the capacity regulating request; analyzing the capacity regulating request to acquire the use space capacity regulating target value, and determining a capacity distribution parameter according to the use space capacity regulating target value; updating the determined capacity distribution parameter to a system table entry of the storage equipment; and feeding the regulated use space capacity back to the user host. By applying the technical scheme provided by the invention, a user can set the use space capacity of the storage equipment when using the storage equipment, so that flexible selection between the capacity and the performance of the storage equipment is realized, or the requirement of a specific application environment on the capacity of the storage equipment is met.
