Abstract

The invention discloses vehicle-mounted multimedia double-picture display system and method based on an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). The display system comprises an integral display system based on the FPGA, GPS processing modules 1 and 2, video equipment, an LCD screen and a central processor, wherein the integral display system based on the FPGA comprises the field programmable gate array (FPGA) and a synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) of the display system. The display method comprises the following steps of: inputting GPS navigation / video signals; zooming in the horizontal direction; controlling the SDRAM; temporarily storing intermediate data by using the SDRAM; zooming in the vertical direction; outputting display data by using an LCD controller; and displaying on the LCD screen. The invention realizes the mutual switching among different GPS navigation systems and double GPS navigation display or same-screen display of any GPS navigation and video entertainment programs. The vehicle-mounted multimedia double-picture display system and method based on the FPGA in the invention are applied to automobiles.
