The liquid display device includes a pixel region having a first liquid crystal domain as a first direction, a second liquid crystal domain as a second direction, a third liquid crystal domain as a third direction, and a fourth liquid crystal domain as a fourth direction in which the tilt direction when voltage applied is decided in advance. The first, the second, the third, and the fourth directions are four directions, any two of which have direction difference of substantially 90 degrees multiplied by an integer. Moreover, the first, the second, the third, and the fourth liquid crystal domains are adjacent to other liquid crystal domains and are arranged in a matrix of two rows and two columns. A drain-extracting wire constitutes at least a part of a central light shielding portion for selectively light-shielding the boundary regions where each of the first, the second, the third, and the fourth liquid crystal domains is adjacent to the other liquid crystal domains.
