Embodiment Construction

[0022] Although the RTS / CTS handshake mechanism is widely used to solve the problem of hidden terminals in wireless networks, it does not have the function of transmitting congestion information and controlling congestion information, nor is it used for congestion control. It works as follows:

[0023] Suppose there are two adjacent nodes A and B, such as figure 1 As shown, A is the sending node and B is the receiving node. According to the existing RTS / CTS handshake mechanism (original handshake mechanism):

[0024] 1. Before A officially sends a data packet to B, it must first send an RTS request packet to B;

[0025] 2. After B receives RTS, if B node thinks that there are no hidden terminals around it, B will return CTS to A; otherwise, B will not respond;

[0026] 3. Only after receiving the CTS returned by B, can A send data packets to B.

[0027] Hereinafter, the above RTS / CTS handshake mechanism is referred to as "original handshake mechanism".

Abstract

The present invention discloses a multi-hop wireless network congestion control method based on RTS / CTS mechanism. The method includes: when a sending node transmits RTS to a receiving node, if the receiving node does not have enough buffer space to receive the data requested to transmit by the receiving node, the receiving nodes returns a fCTS back to a RTS sender; the RTS sender, after receiving the fCTS, transmits the data packet under the conditions specified by the fCTS contents. If a node has sends out a RTS just after sending out the fCTS or nCTS, the node must return back CTS to the RTS sender if there are no hidden terminals around the receiving node of the RTS, and the nCTS is used to inform the RTS sender not to carry out data transmission. The invention can more accurately grasp the situation of network congestion in a very small price, reduces and avoids the misjudgment of the situation of network congestion, and can effectively control the occurrence of congestion, thereby greatly improving the effective throughput of TCP.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to multi-hop wireless network (Multi-Hop Wireless Network), RTS / CTS handshake mechanism (RTS full name is Request-To-Send, CTS full name is Clear-To-Send), network congestion control (CongestionControl) and transport layer control The technical field of protocol (TCP), specifically relates to a multi-hop wireless network congestion control method based on an RTS / CTS handshake mechanism. Background technique [0002] TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is a connection-oriented end-to-end transport layer control protocol originally designed for wired networks. It uses a window-based congestion control mechanism, and its main purpose is to avoid generating unreasonably large amounts of network traffic. TCP assumes that the loss of all data packets is caused by network congestion, and judges the congestion status of the network based on this, and then adjusts the congestion control window. However, this assumption has been pr...
