[0048] For the preparation of the gel system according to the formulation of Example 2, Durotak 387-2287 was provided. Weigh out the glycerin, propylene glycol, and pine needle oil and homogenize with a medium agitation speed. Thereafter, while stirring, camphor and menthol were sequentially weighed and added and dissolved. To this was added menthol to produce an opaque solution, then, while stirring, hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin and silicic acid (Sidem 22S) were weighed and added and stirred until the mass was uniform. Stirring is continued until there is no further change in the viscosity of the mass. Cool the mass in an ice bath and continue stirring at the lowest stirring level. The karaya gum was then added and homogenized while stirring, keeping the stirrer at the lowest stirring level and continuing to cool the mass without interruption.
