The invention discloses an alarm information transmitting method, which achieves the alarm information transmitting between current layer and lower layer of VPLS that adopts different protocol via the format conversion of the alarm information, i.e. the alarm information of the lower layer network can be transmitted to other network devices in current layer through the alarm format conversion, also, the the alarm information of the current layer network can be transmitted to network devices in lower layer through the alarm format conversion. The invention further discloses an alarm information transmitting device, and a network device thereof. The invention realizes the OAM function from end to end in multilayer VPLS netwrok.
