The digital correcting method for the transient error of capacitive voltage transformer can reduce the secondary output error to about 2 % during the abrupt drop of the primary input voltage, and provides fast relay protector and fault range finder with capacitive voltage transformer with digital correcting method of accurate and fast tracing the input voltage change. The basic principle is that the capacitive voltage transformer is considered as one time-invariant transmission network with the secondary output voltage and the primary input voltage possessing some inevitable corresponding relation, so that on the basis of acquiring the secondary output voltage value, the primary voltage waveform may be derived based on the corresponding relation and the transient error of capacitive voltage transformer may be eliminated.
