Abstract

The present invention relates to optical system for distinguishing different record areas in optical storing medium. The optical system includes one optical head, one signal adder and one comparator. The optical head has one light source to provide one incoming light beam to the data record area and header label record area of the optical storing medium and generate one corresponding reflected light beam; and one right detecting module and one left detecting module to detect the reflected light beam and to generate one right detection signal and one left detection signal. The signal adder adds the amplitude of the right detection signal and that of the left detection signal to produce one sum signal.
