Embodiment Construction

[0029] The principles of operation of illustrative embodiments of the present invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following description, for the sake of clarity and conciseness, a detailed description of functions and configurations incorporated herein that are well known to those skilled in the art is omitted. It is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology used herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting of the invention.

[0030] A mobile communication system requires a communication scheme capable of ensuring high-speed data services. When a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) scheme is used for a transmitter / receiver, data processing capability in a mobile communication system can be significantly improved.

[0031] In order to deal with the problem that arises when sufficient data processing capability cannot be guaranteed because the matrix coefficient of t...

Abstract

The present invention provides an apparatus and method for receiving and transmitting high-speed packet data without path loss in mobile communication having multiple receiving and transmitting antennas. In order to support high-speed data for a mobile station (MS), a base station (BS) recognizes a correlation between the number of transmit antennas and the number of receive antennas using feedback information, and determines whether to establish a relay transmission scheme. When the number of transmission antennas according to the established relay transmission scheme is greater than the number of reception antennas, the BS determines whether quality of service for the MS is satisfied. When the quality of service for the MS is not satisfied, the BS transmits high-speed data through a specific node group close to the MS.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for receiving and transmitting high-speed packet data in a mobile communication system. More particularly, the present invention relates to an apparatus and method for receiving and transmitting high-speed packet data in mobile communication having multiple receiving and transmitting antennas. Background technique [0002] Currently, the mobile communication system is developing into a wireless broadband communication system greater than 5 GHz to support multimedia services. For example, a wireless local area network (LAN) operates at 24 GHz of an industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band, which corresponds to a frequency band that can be used without a special license. In this case, the system link-level performance (in other words, spectral efficiency) needs to be greater than 10 bits / s / Hz per channel. [0003] In order to achieve this, mobile communication systems are based on proposed M...
