Embodiment Construction

[0017] Get a first impression about the structure of this device through Figure 1. Two rotary tables 6 and 7 can be seen, which interact. The rotary tables are arranged such that they engage one another in a transfer point 8 . The rotary table 6 carries circularly arranged preforming molds (not shown) for forming parisons. Whereas the larger rotary table 7 carries circularly arranged pressing dies (not shown) for pressing the parison. It can be seen that the rotary table 7 for the pressing mold has more places than the rotary table 6 for the preforming mold. The existence of this is thus limited: each punch (not shown) of each die has its own drive mechanism. This means that the dies can move simultaneously during the duration of the pressing. A longer pressing time than the feed time is thus achieved with a higher mechanical outlay.

[0018] FIG. 2 shows the interaction of the rotary tables 6 and 7 . FIG. 2 shows how the preforming tool moves into the area between the p...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for producing blank-pressed glass bodies for optical components, according to preforming technology, whereby a liquid glass gob is supplied to a levitation preform mould in which said glass gob is preformed to form a parison, without touching the mould surface. After a defined period of time, said parison is transferred to a separate compression mould and is pressed therein by means of a press tool in order to form the end shape. The parison (1) is transferred to the compression mould (2) in such a way that it falls freely from the preform mould into the compression mould (2). According to the invention, the preform mould (1) is displaced above the compression mould (2) for the transfer of the glass gob, is maintained in said transfer position, and is downwardly pivoted away from the glass gob.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention in the broadest sense relates to a method for processing calendered glass bodies for optical devices according to the preforming theory, wherein a single glass drop is fed to a suspended preforming mold in which the glass drop does not Preforming into a parison in contact with the surface of a preforming tool, which is transferred after a defined time course to a separate pressing tool where it is pressed into its final shape by means of a die, in which the parison is transferred To the pressing die This is done by allowing the parison to drop from the preforming die into the pressing die in free fall. For this purpose, the preforming tool is moved over the pressing tool to transfer the glass drop, remains in this transfer position and is rotated downwards away from the glass drop. The invention relates to a device for carrying out the method, said device having two rotary tables, one of which has a circularly arranged preforming mold for ...
