Abstract

When an image area for forming an image represented by an input image signal is set at the center of an image display area and a mask display area for forming a black image is set at the outer peripheral of an image area so as to be adjustable within an image display area of an image display device, based on parameters representing a projection size set by a user, to thereby generate a display image signal from an input image signal, an input image signal is reduced or enlarged so that an image size represented by the input image signal is fitted to an image area and a display image signal is generated so as to display a black image in a mask display area. The above arrangement can adjust a projection size according to the sizes of an image area and a mask area adjustably set based on parameters representing a projection size, thereby easily adjusting the projection size, by a projector, of an image.
