Abstract

A patient monitoring system includes a microphone that collects audio data from a patient. The audio data is used to generate audio characteristics to classify the audio data and analyze the audio data to determine a patient's health status. Audio characteristics and patient health status are tracked over time and used to monitor patient breathing conditions. The system determines a patient health status based on a comparison between the audio characteristics and a database of audio characteristics associated with the recorded health status of each patient. Based on the database of audio characteristics and the associated health status, the system generates a report of the current patient health status.
