A vehicle seat (1) is provided with an upper frame (20) on which a seat section (10) is mounted, a lower frame (22) which is mounted on a floor (3) and faces the upper frame (20); a link mechanism (24) which connects the upper frame (20) and the lower frame (22) and which adjusts the position of the upper frame (20) relative to the lower frame (22), a belt member (30) which has one longitudinal end connected to the rear side of the upper frame (20) and which has a deformation section (32) which slackens, and a pulling mechanism (50) which, in a vehicle collision, pulls the other longitudinal end of the belt member (30) to stretch the slackened deformation section (32).
