[0048] The following detailed description is directed to certain specific embodiments of the invention. However, the invention can be embodied in many different ways as defined and covered by the claims and their equivalents. In the description, the figures are numbered in which like parts are designated with like numerals throughout.
[0049] Unless otherwise stated in the specification or claims, all terms used in the specification and claims shall have the meanings normally assigned to these terms by those skilled in the art.
[0050] Throughout the specification and claims, unless the context clearly requires, the words "comprise", "comprise" and similar expressions are to be construed in an inclusive sense rather than an exclusive or exhaustive sense; that is, from a certain sense, "including but not limited to". Words using the singular or the plural also include the plural or singular respectively. Additionally, the words "herein," "above," "below," and words of simi...

Abstract
Consumer products, such as refractive measurement devices, may be used to obtain refractive measurements, allowing consumers to track their eyesight without visiting optometrists or ophthalmologists.Such a consumer product may work in conjunction with a smartphone or other product having a touch screen that presents an image to a dioptric measurement device. The smartphone may have a resolution ratio, sometimes measured with a PPI or number of pixels per inch unknown to the user and / or refractive measurement device. One aspect of the present invention is to provide an optical interface for auser to manually match a viewing port boundary of a smartphone to coincide with a viewing port boundary of a dioptric measurement device. Another aspect of the invention is the use of pre-distortion in an image presented to a user. The user's own refractive error can be derived by paying attention to the user's corrective action applied to the refractive measurement device.
