Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a method and an apparatus for storing a media file and for searching a media file. A specific embodiment of the method includes: acquiring a semantic vector for characterizing semantics of a context of the media file, the context being a context of the media file in a webpage presenting the media file; and storing the semantic vector and the media file in association.
