The method comprises the steps of receiving a resource acquisition request pointing to a target streaming media resource; under the condition that the target streaming media resource is not cached, sending a data downloading request for obtaining a specified data segment in the target streaming media resourceto a source station server; wherein the specified data segment is at least used for representing the playing duration of the target streaming media resource; receiving a response message which is fedback by the source station server and contains the specified data segment, and calculating a back-to-source rate adaptive to the target streaming media resource according to the response message; anddownloading the target streaming media resource from the source station server according to the back-to-source rate, and feeding back the downloaded content to an initiator of the resource acquisition request when downloading the target streaming media resource.
