Abstract

The invention discloses application of valproic acid in preparation of anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs. By performing RNA-Seq transcriptome analysis on human cells infected by bacteria, onbasis of co-expression pathway and drug genome enrichment analysis methods, a list of candidate drugs with anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects are obtained; and then, several marketed drugs with the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as the valproic acid of which the anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects have not been found before, are found out. Thus, the valproic acid can be used for preparing anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a new application of medicine, in particular to a new application of valproic acid, specifically its application in the preparation of antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs, and belongs to the field of biomedicine. Background technique [0002] Valproic acid (valproic acid), a selective inhibitor of HDAC, also inhibits the proteasomal degradation of HDAC2, is used to treat epilepsy and bipolar disorder, and to prevent migraine. [0003] Valproic acid directly inhibits histone deacetylases through different pathways, with an IC50 of 0.4mM for HDAC1. In cultured cells, valproic acid acts like the histone deacetylase inhibitor trichostatin, causing deacetylation of histones. Valproic acid also activates transcription from different exogenous and endogenous promoters. In vertebrate embryos, valproic acid and trichostatin have very similar teratogenic effects without activating transcription (see Phiel, Christopher J., et al."...
