The location information reporting method comprises the following steps of: receiving the location information acquisition request sent by a location requesting device; determining the relative location information of the current location of a location solution device relative to a designated referencelocation; and sending location information to the location requesting device, wherein the location information carries the relative location information. The location information reporting method provides a scheme of transmitting the relative location information in order to improve the location capacity of a cell and reduce the resource occupied by the location information so as to achieve the purpose of compressing the transmission data quantity, which well solves the problem in the prior art that the network resource consumption is too large during location information transmission.
