A method, system, terminal and compute readable storage medium for identifying type of potentially excellent performers are provided. A method for identifying the type of potential excellent performers include obtaining sample data of a plurality of excellent performers; a potential performance excellence identification model is established and trained according to the sample data of a plurality of excellent performers. Inputting sample data of a non-excellent person into the potential excellent person identification model to calculate a probability value for the non-excellent person to grow into each excellent person type; judging whether each of the probability values is greater than a preset probability; and selecting a maximum probability value from a probability value greater than a preset probability value, and taking a performance excellence type corresponding to the maximum probability value as a potential development performance excellence type of the non-performance excellence personnel. The invention establishes and trains a potential performance excellence identification model based on the neural network and the sample data of the performance excellence personnel, and accurately locates the performance excellence type of the growth of the non-performance excellence personnel according to the model, so as to carry out directional cultivation.
