The snake-like robot comprises a knuckle mechanism formed by connecting knuckle modules, a plurality of knuckle units are connected through telescopic structures in the peripheral direction to form each ring-shaped knuckle module with the adjustable aperture, the knuckle modules are superposed to form an elongated barrel, each two adjacent knuckle modules are connected through a plurality of hinged structures which are distributed in the peripheral direction, the knuckle mechanism comprises a knuckle inner barrel and a knuckle outer barrel, the knuckle inner barrel consists of the knuckle modules, the knuckle outer barrel sleeves the outer side of the knuckle inner barrel and consists of the knuckle modules, by a front movement module and a rearmovement module which are connected to the two ends of the knuckle mechanism, the knuckle modules in the knuckle inner barrel are driven to move towards the knuckle outer barrel or the knuckle modulesof the knuckle outer barrel are driven to move towards the knuckle inner barrel so as to implement crawling, and an angle between each two adjacent knuckle modules on the knuckle outer barrel is adjusted through the corresponding direction module to control the crawling direction.
