The apparatus comprises a collection terminal module, a diagnosis module, a control module and a client; the collection terminalmodule is used for obtaining a to-be-diagnosed video; the diagnosis module is used for diagnosing the to-be-diagnosed video, and sending a diagnosis warning signal to the control module if the to-be-diagnosed video is abnormal; and the control module is used for controlling the collection terminal module to send an alarm signal to the client according to the diagnosis warning signal. According tothe video quality diagnosis apparatus provided by the invention, the collection terminal module is controlled to send alarm information to the client according to the diagnosis warning signal via thecontrol module, therefore when video abnormality is judged according to the quality of the video stored in a video storage device, the user can be notified in time, therefore the validity of the videostored in the video storage device can be monitored, and then the user can maintain the faulty video monitoring device in time.
