The invention provides a gas metering device which comprises a metering tube, a balance cup, and a lifting unit, wherein the metering tube is used to store gas needing to be metered; the balance cup communicates with the metering tube by a first pipeline, and the balance cup is designed to store a liquid communicating with the external environment; the lifting unit is connected to the balance cupso as to drive vertical motion of the balance cup; and after injection of the gas into the metering tube, the lifting unit can drive the balance cup to move, make the liquid level in the balance cup and the liquid level in the metering cup balanced and compute the volume of the gas according to a motion distance of the balance cup. The gas metering device has the advantage that automatic collection and metering of the volume of gas which has unsteady flows, uncertain constituents and high pressure, and is generated in a lab can be achieved.
