The method comprises the following steps: periodically generating at least one lottery kind recommendation signal; determining a lottery kind category corresponding to the lottery kind recommendation signal, wherein the lottery kind category comprises at least a slow frequency lottery and a high frequency lottery, and each lottery kind category comprises a plurality of lottery kinds; according to the recommendation rule corresponding to the determined lottery kind category, calculating a current recommendation value of each lottery kind contained in the lottery kind category; and comparing the current recommendation values of each lottery kind, and taking the largest current recommendation value as the currently recommended lottery kind of the lottery kind category. According to the method and system disclosed by the present invention, the recommended lottery kind which is concerned by lottery buyers with different preferences of lottery kind categories is provided for the lottery buyers, and the lottery kind recommendation signal is periodically generated by the lottery kind recommendation system, so that the currently recommended lottery kind can be updated regularly and the lottery buyers can be informed of the currently popular lottery kind in real time.
