The processing method is applied to a system for concentrated reading of multiple meters and comprises steps as follows: a communication interface converter receives a first command frame sent by a concentrator; the communication interface converter acquires a protocol type of the first command frame; the communication interface converter acquires meter reading data of to-be-read meters according to the first command frame and packages the meter reading data according to the protocol type to form a first response data frame; the communication interface converter sends the first response data frame to the concentrator, and the problem that an existing concentrator is complicated due to need for compatibility processing on different protocols is effectively solved.
