According to the technical scheme of the invention, the set-top box module acquires the upgrading software of the gateway module with the same region identifier as the set-top box module according to the software upgrading instruction, the upgrading software of the gateway module is sent to the gateway module, region consistency between the upgrading software of the set-top box module and the upgrading software of the gateway module is further ensured, and accurate software upgrading of the gateway module is thus realized.
