The method comprises the steps of performing tailoring on a vehicle-mounted embedded operation system; loading a driver and a third-party image software processing library based on the operation system; then transplanting a compiled auxiliary driving pre-warning system into an embedded chip; and monitoring a vehicle distance of a preceding vehicle based on a night infrared image by the auxiliary driving pre-warning system. According to the infrared identification-based vehicle state monitoring method proposed by the invention, the motor vehicle safety detection is realized in the embedded chip, the driving safety pre-warning performance is improved, and the real-time calculation and pre-warning of a to-be-calculated task processing amount can be realized.
