Abstract

The invention discloses benzene-free type high-gloss and high-solid-content acrylic resin and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of paints. The benzene-free type high-gloss and high-solid-content acrylic resin is prepared from the following raw materials by mass: 8 percent to 15 percent of n-butanol, 10 percent to 17 percent of butyl acetate, 0.5 percent to 1 percent of mercaptopropionic acid, 8 percent to 15 percent of hydroxy-propyl acrylate, 5 percent to 15 percent of lauryl methacrylate, 15 percent to 50 percent of iso-bornyl acrylate, 5 percent to 10 percent of glycidyl methacrylate, 3 percent to 8 percent of butyl methacrylate and 2 percent to 3.5 percent of 2,2'-azobis(2-methylpropionitrile). By utilizing a ratio and a combination of the iso-bornyl acrylate and the lauryl methacrylate, the resin also has excellent flexibility and anti-impact capability under a high gloss condition even if no benzene exists; the polarity and viscosity of the resin are reduced and the solid content being 85 percent becomes possible.
