The invention provides a volume adjusting method and an intelligent device. The method is applied to the intelligent device with output audio data. The method comprises steps: when volume adjusting information is detected, whether an audio channel in the intelligent device is opened is judged; when the audio channel in the intelligent device is not opened, whether the audio channel in a preset time is opened is judged; and when the audio channel in the preset time is opened, the volume size of a first volume for opening the audio channel is adjusted according to the volume adjusting information. Thus, on the premise that the user does not need to know which type of volume is adjusted defaultly by the intelligent device, the volume of a certain to-be-adjusted type by the user is adjusted.
