The invention discloses an updating method for public transport system scheduling information.The method includes the steps that video information, acquired based on a video monitoring device, of public transport lines is acquired; passenger flow volume data and road condition data of the public transport lines are acquired from the acquired video information, wherein the passenger flow volume data comprises the passenger flow volume data of all platforms of the public transport lines and the passenger flow volume data in public transport vehicles; the scheduling information of the public transport vehicles of the public transport lines is updated according to the acquired passenger flow volume data and/or the acquired road condition data.The invention further provides an updating device for the public transport system scheduling information.The public transport vehicles can be scheduled according to the condition of a public transport system, and the problem that the passenger flow requirement and public transport service capacity are not matched is solved.
