Abstract

The invention discloses a CGN(Carrier Grade Network Address Translation) broadband access gateway and an implementation method thereof. The implementation method includes that a main control board receives a traffic access request from a user, allocating a CGN boards carrying user traffic according to resource information of the CGN boards and leads traffic to the CGN board. The CGN board receives user traffic, creates an NAT session, adds the session to an NAT session list, performs traffic address translation and carries on transmission through an interface board. By adopting the gateway and the implementation method provided by the invention, unified management of broadband access network NAT sessions and trans-CGN board treatment of NAT traffic are realized and CGN redundant backup capability and utilization rate of the broadband access gateway are improved.
