Abstract

The invention discloses a material appearance acquisition method based on Kinect equipment. According to the method, material appearance of a certain object is acquired by utilizing single microsoft somatic sensing equipment Kinect, and finally a six-dimensional appearance function of the object changing with difference of positions, illumination and observation angles, normal vectors of the object at each position and surrounding environmental illumination in object acquisition are acquired. The method comprises three steps: acquisition of geometric and RGB images of the object, and combined optimization and post processing of the normal vectors of the object, a bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF), camera azimuth and environmental illumination. Professional or expensive acquisition equipment is not used, and surface material and the normal vectors of the non-planar object and illumination of environment in which the object is positioned can be acquired by using common Kinect equipment.
