The invention discloses a bridging device based on a linux operation system. The bridging device comprises at least two local area network port processing modules and at least two wide area network port processing modules. At least two local area network port processing modules are connected with at least two local area network ports in a one-to-one correspondence mode to receive data from at least two local area network ports or transmitting data packages to at least two local area network ports. At least two wide area network port processing modules are connected with the same wide area network port to transmit data to the wide area network port or receive data packages from the wide area network port. Each local area network port processing module is bound with only one wide area network port processing module correspondingly. A communication method of the bridging device is further disclosed. By means of the bridging device and the communication method, communication disorder is avoided.
