Abstract

The invention discloses a traditional Chinese medicine composition for preventing and treating epidemic meningitis. The traditional Chinese medicine composition is prepared from the following medicinal materials in parts by weight: 7-11 parts of raw rhubarb, 7-11 parts of mirabilite, 10-14 parts of immature bitter orange, 1-5 parts of mangnolia officinalis, 1-3 parts of purple snow elixir, 1.5-3.5 parts of rhinoceros horn, 12-17 parts of rhizoma anemarrhenae and 18-22 parts of lalang grass rhizome. The preparation method comprises the following steps: putting weighed the raw rhubarb, the mirabilite, the immature bitter orange, the mangnolia officinalis, the purple snow elixir, the rhinoceros horn, the rhizoma anemarrhenae and the lalang grass rhizome into a container; adding 8-fold water to decoct for 1.5 hours; filtering; adding 6-fold water to a residue; decocting for an hour; filtering, and merging filtrate; concentrating, drying and loading in capsule shells. A clinical experiment proves that the epidemic meningitis can be safely and effectively treated by the traditional Chinese medicine composition.
