The method for finding the link comprises the steps that step1, the first network element receives a finding parameter sent by a second physical interface of a second network element from a first physical interface, the finding parameter is the only parameter which represents the second physical interface, the first physical interface is a physical interface arranged on the first network element, and the second physical interface is a physical interface arranged on the second network element; step2, the first network element reports the finding parameter and an identification of the first physical interface to the network management equipment so that the network management equipment can find the link between the second physical interface and the first physical interface according to the finding parameter and the identification of the first physical interface.
