According to the method and the device for detecting the SOH of the battery, the absorption capacity value or the discharge capacity value in a characteristic capacity interval in the process of normal charging or discharging of the battery is monitored to detect the battery current actual capacity value and the specific value of the SOH so as to detect the SOH of the battery, average and effectiveness of the battery actual capacity values and the specific value of the SOH are judged for a plurality of times to improve detection accuracy, and therefore detection of the SOH of the battery is achieved effectively.
