Four key nodes are chosen so that a variation section of a state of charge (SOC) of the battery energy storage system is determined. SOC up to SOC max is an urgent charging section, SOC down to SOC up is an energy free transportation section and SOC down to SOC min is an urgent discharging section. When large power disturbance occurs in a located outer environment, the battery energy storage system always can preferably offer a rapid charging or discharging urgent power control function; and when the outer environment operates normally and the battery energy storage system is in the energy free transportation section, a charging state and a discharging state can be freely controlled according to outer environment requirements, when the battery energy storage system is in the urgent charging section, only discharge is allowed and when the battery energy storage system is in the urgent discharging section, only charge is allowed. According to the control method for the battery energy storage system, two functions of energy transportation and power urgent control can be integrated in one energy storage system, so that system device investment is reduced, device using rate is improved and economic benefit is good.
