AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

The technical effect described in this patented method involves studying how different types of materials cause vibrations when they rotate inside an impeller during operation. By analyzing these sounds made up from various sources like dipoles or other particles attached to the rotating part of the machine, we aimed towards finding ways to improve their performance without adding extra weight or complexity.

Problems solved by technology

The technical problem addressed by this patented technology relates to finding ways to accurately estimate or calculate intake manifold pressure (IOP) within centrifuge pumps without generating excessive noise that could be harmful when operating at certain speeds. This can help improve engine performance and prevent damage from overheated parts caused by increased airflow velocity near the pump's suction port.

[0020] specific implementation plan

[0021] Below in conjunction with application example accompanying drawing, the present invention will be further described:

[0022] (1) Use Pro / E software to carry out three-dimensional modeling of the model pump. The full channel of the model pump is divided into eight parts: the inlet channel, the inlet extension, the mouth ring, the front cavity, the impeller, the impeller volute clearance, the volute and the rear cavity.

[0023] (2) This method uses ICEM to mesh the computational domain, adopts highly adaptable unstructured tetrahedral mesh for meshing, and performs local refinement on complex flow regions.

[0024] (3) Import the grid into ANSYS-CFX software, use the steady incompressible Reynolds time-averaged equation (RANS) in the rotating coordinate system, and use the SSTk-ω turbulence model to model the Reynolds stress term.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for predicting hydraulic noise of a centrifugal pump. The method is characterized in that a model pump is subjected to three-dimensional modeling, an unsteady constant value analogue value is calculated in an ANSYS-CFX, a centrifugal pump internal flow induced noise sound field is solved by combining LMS Virtual. Lab Acoustics. Based on a Lighthill acoustic analogy, an analogy method for solving the centrifugal pump internal flow induced noise sound field through a mixed method by taking a blade surface dipole as a pump internal acoustic source is provided. Meanwhile, a volute acoustic scattering effect is considered, and inner and outer acoustic models are established by taking a volute as a boundary. Meanwhile, according to pump internal flow induced noise characteristics, a direct boundary element method is selected to solve the sound field, and the acoustic characteristics of the centrifugal pump at the blade frequency and harmonic frequency are studied. A trend of the sound field along with flow change can reflect the actual condition of the model pump, so a numerical simulation method can be used as a method for predicting the centrifugal pump fluid induced noise, and a theoretical design basis is provided for designing a low-noise centrifugal pump.
